Some things
don't need fixing.

A charging port full of lint, photos stuck on an old phone, a laptop crawling under pop-ups, a device that needs wiping before you sell it. Walk into any PhoneHub in Georgia and we'll handle it at the counter — usually while you wait.

What we do

Four things people bring us every day.

Device cleaning

Charging ports packed with pocket lint, speaker grilles you can't hear through, camera glass that's gone hazy. Nine times out of ten a port that won't charge is dirty rather than broken, so we clean it first and tell you if it really needs replacing.

  • Charging port cleaned out under magnification
  • Speaker and earpiece grilles cleared
  • Camera glass, screen and case wiped down
  • Phones, tablets, laptops and consoles

If the port turns out to be damaged rather than dirty, we quote the replacement before we do anything.

Data transfer

Moving to a new phone and don't want to lose eight years of photos. We move it across at the counter while you wait — iPhone to iPhone, Android to Android, or one to the other.

  • Photos, videos, contacts and messages
  • Apps and accounts signed back in
  • Phone to phone, or phone to a laptop or drive
  • Done here, not sent anywhere

Bring both devices, both charged, and know the passcodes and the Apple or Google account password for each.

Virus removal

Pop-ups that won't close, a browser that opens somewhere you didn't ask for, a laptop that takes four minutes to start, or a full-screen warning telling you to call “Microsoft support”. That last one is always a scam — bring it in instead.

  • Malware, adware and browser hijacks removed
  • Startup junk and fake “cleaner” apps cleared out
  • Windows laptops and desktops, and Macs
  • Your files stay where they are

If someone has already been given remote access or card details, tell us — that changes what needs doing first.

Factory reset

Before a phone is sold, traded or handed down, it has to be wiped properly and signed out of the account it's tied to. A phone that's only been reset but not signed out is locked to the old owner and useless to anyone else.

  • Wiped the way the manufacturer intends
  • Signed out of iCloud, Find My or a Google account
  • Data taken off first if you want to keep it
  • Free on anything you sell or trade to us

We can't reset a device we can't get into. Bring the passcode and the account password, or we can't do it — and nobody else can either.

Before you come in

What to bring.

1

The device, charged

Enough charge to turn on and stay on. If it won't charge at all, bring it anyway — that's usually the lint.

2

Your passcodes

The screen passcode and the Apple or Google account password. Without them a reset or a transfer can't legally or technically be done.

3

Both phones, for a transfer

The old one and the new one. If the old one is broken, bring it anyway and we'll tell you honestly what can still be pulled off it.

Back up anything you can't lose before any work starts. Some faults make data unrecoverable before we ever touch the device, and a reset erases everything by design.3

Also worth knowing

Questions we get asked.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the device and what's actually wrong, so we price it at the counter before we start — you'll never be charged for something you didn't agree to. A port clean-out is a few minutes' work; a laptop full of malware is not.

How long does it take?

Cleaning and resets are usually done while you wait. A data transfer depends on how much there is — a phone with 60GB of video takes a while, and we'll tell you roughly how long when we start.1

Do you keep a copy of my data?

No. A transfer moves your files from one device to the other and nothing stays with us. Read our privacy policy if you want the detail.

Can you get data off a phone that won't turn on?

Sometimes, and we'll tell you honestly after we look at it. We don't promise recovery on a device that's been in water or won't power up — anyone who does is guessing.
