Privacy
What we collect, and why.
This policy covers phonehub.net and every PhoneHub store in Georgia. Plain English, no filler.
Last updated 12 September 2026
Who we are
- PhoneHub operates walk-in device repair stores across Georgia and the website at phonehub.net. In this policy “we” and “PhoneHub” mean that business, and “you” means anyone who uses the site or comes into a store.
- Questions, requests or complaints about privacy: use our contact form, or call the store you used — every number is on the locations page.
What we collect
- When you contact us or ask for a quote. Your name, phone number, email address, the device you have and what's wrong with it.
- When we repair your device. The device's make, model, IMEI or serial number, the fault, the work done, and your passcode where the repair cannot be tested without it. We ask for the passcode so we can confirm the repair works — we do not browse your device, and we do not copy anything off it.
- When you sell a device to us. Your name and valid government-issued photo identification, plus the device's model, storage, carrier, condition, and IMEI or serial number. State and local law requires second-hand dealers to record these.
- When you apply for a job. Whatever you put in the application form, and your résumé if you attach one.
- When you buy something. Card payments are handled by our payment processor. We receive a confirmation and the last four digits — we never see or store your full card number.
- When you use the website. Your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, how you got here, and similar usage data collected through cookies and analytics.
- We do not ask for, and you should not send us, your Social Security number, financial account numbers, health information, or any other sensitive personal information.
Why we collect it
- To quote, carry out and warranty repairs, and to reach you when your device is ready.
- To buy and sell devices, and to keep the records the law requires us to keep.
- To take payment and to keep accounting and tax records.
- To answer questions, handle complaints and honor warranty claims.
- To run and improve the website, and to see which pages and ads actually bring people in.
- To send you service messages about a repair or an order. We only send marketing messages if you have asked for them.
- To meet our legal obligations and to protect against fraud, theft and misuse.
Calls and text messages
- When you give us your phone number we use it to reach you about your repair, your order or your inquiry — for example to tell you the device is ready or that a part has arrived. Those are service messages, not marketing.
- We only send you marketing texts or calls if you have separately agreed to them. Agreeing is never a condition of any purchase or repair.
- Reply STOP to any text to stop them, or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply from your carrier. We do not sell or share your phone number with anyone for their own marketing.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
- The site uses cookies and similar technologies to make it work, to remember your choices such as the language you picked, and to measure traffic.
- We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and Google Ads to advertise. These set cookies and identifiers that can be used to measure whether an ad led to a visit, and to show PhoneHub ads to people who have visited the site before. We do not tell Google who you are.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on, and control the ads you see at Google My Ad Center. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser, though parts of the site may stop working properly.
- Our online repair quote is provided by a third-party quote service, and the store maps are provided by Google. When you use them, those companies receive the information you enter and their own privacy policies apply.
- The site honors Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where the law requires it. The site does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, because there is still no agreed standard for them.
Who we share it with
- Service providers who work for us and only on our instructions: our website host, our payment processor, our repair and point-of-sale software, our quote provider, and email and analytics providers.
- Where the law requires it — a subpoena, a court order, or a law-enforcement request we are legally obliged to answer, including the second-hand dealer reporting that applies when we buy a device.
- To protect people or property, including investigating fraud, theft or a device reported lost or stolen.
- If the business is sold or reorganized, customer records may transfer as part of it.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own advertising. Our use of Google advertising cookies may count as “sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising” under some state laws; you can turn that off using the Google controls above or by contacting us.
The data on your device
- Back up your device before any repair, and take out your SIM and memory cards. Repairs sometimes require a reset, and some faults make the data unrecoverable before we ever touch it.
- Our technicians access a device only as far as testing the repair requires. We do not copy, keep or look through your photos, messages, files or accounts.
- PhoneHub is not liable for the loss, disclosure, alteration or corruption of data on any device, at any stage. That is set out in our store policy and it is why backing up matters.
- When you sell a device to us, we erase it. Sign out of iCloud or your Google account and remove any screen lock first — we cannot remove an account lock for you.
How long we keep it
- Repair and sale records: as long as we need them for the warranty, and then for as long as tax and business law requires, currently at least four years.
- Second-hand device purchase records, including identification details: for the period state and local law requires.
- Job applications: up to one year, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Website analytics: as configured in Google Analytics, currently up to fourteen months.
- Passcodes are used for testing and are not kept after the device leaves us.
Your choices and rights
- You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Send the request through our contact form and tell us what you want.
- We will verify who you are before we act on a request — usually by matching the details against the repair or purchase record. We answer within 45 days and will tell you if we need longer.
- Some information we have to keep even if you ask us to delete it, such as second-hand purchase records and accounting records that the law requires us to hold.
- Georgia does not currently have a general consumer privacy law. If you live in a state that does — such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia or Texas — you have the rights that law gives you, including the right to opt out of targeted advertising and the right not to be treated differently for exercising them. We honor those requests for anyone who asks, wherever you live.
- To stop marketing, reply STOP to a text, use the unsubscribe link in an email, or just tell us.
Security
- The site runs over HTTPS. Access to our repair and customer records is limited to staff who need it, and identification details recorded for device purchases are kept restricted.
- No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that information sent over the internet is completely safe. If a breach affects your personal information we will notify you as the law requires.
Children
- The site is for adults and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
- We do not knowingly buy devices from anyone under 18.
Other sites
- This site links to other companies — Google Maps, our quote provider, our financing partner, carrier websites and the occasional reference link. Once you are on their site, their privacy policy applies, not ours.
Changes
- We may update this policy. The date at the top says when it last changed, and the version on this page is the one in force. If we make a significant change we will say so on the site.
Our repair, warranty, purchase and liability terms are in the store policy. Anything else, use our contact form or call your store from the locations page.
